Anointing of the Sick

Sick and Infirmed Parishioners: Do you know of any parishioners who are unable to attend Masses? If you have their contact number please let a member of the Parish know so that a visit can be arranged to celebrate the Sacrament of the Sick with them during Advent.

The Sacrament of the Sick (Anointing) is available to anyone who is seriously or chronically ill, weakened by age, or is preparing for surgery.

If you need to contact a priest in an emergency please telephone Bishop Emeritus Thomas McMahon in Stock (01277840268) or Fr Dominic Howarth at Walsingham House at Abbotswick (07939296292). Basildon and Broomfield Hospitals have “on call” Catholic Priest chaplains for emergencies, as well as lay chaplains for routine visits, and the ward sisters will be able to contact them for you.

Communion calls to the housebound are made weekly and/or upon request. Please ask a member of the Parish if you or your loved one is hospitalised or is in need of these special services. If you want those who are sick to be mentioned/prayed for at Mass, please forward their names by speaking to a member of the Parish.
